Garrett was born and raised in Minnesota. and has always had a passion for art of any form. Shortly after graduating high school, Garrett learned how to tattoo. He moved to Austin Texas in 1994 where friend Mike Burford introduced him to the notorious Ed Potter who he apprenticed under for 3 years. After his apprenticeship, he moved back to Minnesota and worked at a few different shops until opening Live Fast Die Young Tattoos with co-owner Scott Elke. Garrett is well versed in many styles of tattooing and is happy to assist anyone with a custom tattoo.
